The symposium is organized as a part of an exchange program between the Steklov Institute of Mathematics of St. Petersburg and the Department of Mathematics of Turku University.

The program is supported by the Russian Academy of Sciences and by the Academy of Finland.

The symposium is expected to become a permanent event.
