Visa Information

Nationals of most countries (including EU countries and the U.S.) require visas in order to travel to Russia. Once in Russia, police registration is also necessary (usually at the hotel). Visa requirements and fees vary from country to country; please check with the Russian embassy in your country of residence. The Organizing Committee will be happy to assist you with visa arrangements.
Business visa can be single, double or multiple entry; see e.g. this link for the explanation of the difference between these types of visa.

Business visa for residents of the EU countries (except Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland)

In order to obtain a business visa (at the Russian embassy in your country of residence) you will need an official invitation - visa-support document from the Euler Institute. Such a document can be provided by the Euler Institute staff. However, you will need an original of this invitation in order to obtain a visa. The original will be sent by post. The Organizing Committee makes this invitation - visa-support document in accordance with your Registration and Visa Forms so make sure you filled them in correctly. Preparing this document usually takes up to one week, but mailing my take up to one month.

Business visa for non-EU residents (and Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland)

In order to obtain a business visa (at the Russian embassy in your country of residence) you will need an official invitation from the Russian Ministry of Interior. Such an invitation can be obtained by the Euler Institute staff, although this involves a certain administrative effort; this route should be avoided unless it's necessary. The Organizing Committee makes this invitation in accordance with your Registration and Visa Forms so make sure you filled them in correctly. It is necessary to send a scan copy of your passport to the Organizing Committee. Obtaining such an invitation takes at least 4-6 weeks. In many cases, a copy of this invitation suffices (please check with the Russian embassy); such a copy will be sent to you as a scanned pdf file. If the original is required, this adds the postage (depending on your country of residence) to the charge.

Tourist visa

Tourist visas can be obtained on a commercial basis at many tourist agencies in your country. You may find this to be the easiest option; in this case you will not need any help from us. You can also obtain a tourist visa at the Russian embassy in your country of residence. In this case you will need an invitation. Such an invitation can be arranged by the Euler Institute staff; this involves a fee of approx.300 rub. Normally it suffices to have a copy (not necessarily the original) of the invitation in order to get a tourist visa. Such a copy can be sent to you as a scanned pdf file.

Police Registration

Once in Russia, all foreign nationals need to register. This is usually done at your hotel and costs about 1000 RUB.
