Third Annoncement (02.08.07)

International algebraic conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of a prominent mathematician D. K. Faddeev will take place on September 24-29 at St. Petersburg Department of the V. A. Steklov Institute of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Science. The address: Fontanka, 27.

The Conference will be opened on September 24 at 10.00. The registration of participants will take place on the 1^st floor of the institute from 9.00 to 10.00.

The Program includes 14 plenary talks and about 120 section talks in 5 sections:

• Algebraic geometry and algebraic number theory;
• Algebraic groups, representation theory and algebraic K-theory;
• Galois theory and homological algebra;
• Group theory;
• Ring theory.

Plenary speakers: L. A. Bokut, A. I. Bondal, Yu. A. Drozd, Yu. L. Ershov, I. B. Fesenko, V. A. Iskovskikh, M. Karoubi, V. S. Kulikov, V. P. Platonov, B. I. Plotkin, V. L. Popov, M. Rost, V. E. Voskresensky, A. V. Yakovlev.

The scheduled duration of a plenary talk is 1 hour, and that of a section talk is 45 minutes. However, the organizers are ready to take into account individual wishes.

ABSTRACTS. The abstracts will be published before the start of the conference and placed on the Web a month earlier.

THE REGISTRATION FEE totals 100 Euro, to be paid at the start of the conference. It is not to be paid by plenary speakers.

Documents. We ask all participants who need official invitations or other documents of any sort, and who did not receive these documents as of yet, to inform us as soon as possible and to describe precisely the requirements to these documents.

ACCOMMODATION will be arranged by the Organizing Committee according to your indications in the registration form. Most of the hotel prices for foreign participants are in the range 70-120 Euro per night. A cheap accommodation in a student hostel may also be available, a double room within 30 Euro per night. In case you change your preferences, please inform Mrs. Elena Novikova promptly.

Entertainment program. A trip to Peterhof or Pavlovsk with visiting parks and palaces can be organized at the free day of the conference. Also, we can organize a boat trip along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg. Specific trips will be organized depending on the number of those interested. Please inform us about your preferences.
