1. LOCATION
The
conference will be held at the Euler Institute (St. Petersburg,
Pesochnaya
nab., 10). The place is near the river Malaya Nevka, at
equal
distance (15-20 min. of walk) from the metro stations
"Petrogradskaya"
and "Chernaya Rechka". Look at our metro scheme at

2. ACCOMODATION
Two
possible places of accommodation are assumed:
1) The
hotel "Leningrad Dvorets Molodezhi (LDM)" ("Palace of
Youth"),
ul.
Professora Popova, 47, this is at a walking distance from the Euler Institute.

2) The
student dormitory of the St Petersburg State University,
Mytninskaya
nab. 5/2, it is situated vis-à-vis the Winter Palace (on the
opposite
bank of the Neva). Walking time to the Euler Institute is about
40 minutes
(a trolleybus and several minibuses are available).
The
details of the accommodation will be discussed personally a bit later.
3. TRANSPORTATION
From the
international airport "Pulkovo 2" you may take bus no. 13.
From the
domestic airport "Pulkovo 1" circulate the bus no. 39.
Both buses
bring you to the metro station "Moskovskaya", the minibuses
are also
available. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the stations
"Petrogradskaya"
or "Chernaya Rechka" (by a direct train).
From
"Petrogradskaya" you may take bus no. 10 or 45 that go to
the LDM
hotel. From both stations you may take trolley-bus no.34
to
Pesochnaya Naberezhnaya (two stops), or minibuses no.46, 175, 252, 298,
and 321.
From any
railway station you can take metro. Every railway station has
a nearby
metro station.
The
dormitory (Mytninskaya nab) is reachable from "Sportivnaya" metro
station by
foot in 10 minutes.
4. REGISTRATION AND FEES
Registration
desk will be open on August 15 at the Euler Institute
from 9:30.
The conference will open at 10:30.
The
participants who plan to arrive later may register
during the
breaks. The registration fee is $30 per participant.
Additional
$20 should be paid if the institute provided an authorized
invitation
for visa purposes. For the participants from the CIS
countries
the fee is covered by the organizing committee. The other
participants
should pay the fee at the registration desk in cash.
If the
Euler Institute provided authorized invitation letters for
accompanying
persons, an additional fee of $20 per person should be
paid; in
all other cases there is no fee for accompanying persons.
5. MEALS
Lunches
(at 13:30) will be served for the participants at the canteen
of the
"Statistical Office" (a building on a half-way between the hotel
and the
Euler Institute, please, find the mark "Z" on the map at
http://www.pdmi.ras.ru/EIMI/pictures/map.jpg ).
The
expected price of the lunch will be about 130 rbl. Also, coffee
and tea
will be available at the Euler Institute (free of charge).
6. LECTURES
There will
be, presumably, three 45-minutes lectures from 10:00 to
13:00 in
the morning, and several 25-minutes talks from 15:00 to
18:00 in
the afternoon.
8. MONEY
US dollar
and euro are exchanged by all the exchange offices; however
other
currencies may cause some difficulties (bad rate or no bank to
exchange).
Now the average rates are 31.30 RBL per dollar and 30.50 RBL
per euro.
Personal and Traveler's checks, as well as Credit cards,
are
usually accepted at all major banks in the city. Be careful TO AVOID
exchanging
your currency NEAR exchange offices.
9. WEATHER
The
weather is variable. Average temperature of August is about 12C.
So,
usually it is about 18C during the day. It may be rainy.
